Yosemite National Park

Yosemite National Park is located in the Western United States in the state of California. It encompasses nearly 1,200 square miles. The park is best known for its waterfalls, granite cliffs, giant sequoia trees, glaciers, streams, lakes and mountains. It is almost a wilderness and supports bio diversity with much wildlife.

Here are some of the many things you can see and do at the Yosemite National Park.

One of the most popular activities you can expect at the national park is camping. There are 13 different designated camping grounds in various locations in Yosemite National Park. Each of these is truly amazing. You will also find campground facilities located in High Sierra and the Housekeeping Camp, which offer a fantastic experience.

More than 800 miles of trails can be explored in the national park. You can stop at the National Park Service office and pick up the information, brochures, and maps.

  • Rock Climbing

Rock Climbing is an important activity at Yosemite. Climbers can be seen at El Capitan and Half Dome summits. You can take rock climbing classes offered by various groups in the park.

If you prefer a more conventional approach to finding out and exploring Yosemite, you can take guided tours with one of the Yosemite tour companies. Glacier Point and Tioga Road/Tuolumne Meadows scenic route are two of the must see attractions.

Yosemite also offers a wide range of walks and talks that are informative and inspiring. Everything from outdoor adventures to theater, photo walks and more make up some of the most interesting activities you can take part in when you are at Yosemite.

It is always a good idea to plan ahead and decide what you want to do on your trip. Much information is available online. There are also tour books available on Yosemite at book stores and the libraries.
